On-Site Work
Unlike some general contractors, a member of our leadership team is on-site, working alongside our talented subcontractors to ensure our clients’ vision is met.
We assume that our current home — the one that QWC built — is our last home, but you never know. If we decide to build again, we would certainly not bother getting a second bid. We would simply give the job to QWC.

“Extra-Mile” Approach

We tidy up our job sites every day, with a more thorough clean every week. Clean job sites reduce waste and allow for greater efficiency, saving both materials and time. Our clients (and their neighbors) appreciate this, as does everyone working on the site.

We offer energy-efficient solutions, like spray foam and LED can lights, that help our homeowners save money while doing good for the planet.
Since the original construction, we’ve added a sunroom that QWC helped us with. They were very patient with us as we worked through details and minor adjustments. This addition not only adds value to our home, but also enhances the living experience with the warmth of sunlight.

Our Story
In 1982, Gary Karls transitioned from a career in commercial construction to launch Quality West Construction, a Mt. Horeb-based home construction company with a focus on building high-quality, energy-efficient rural and suburban homes with superior craftsmanship.
Quality West Construction, or QWC, quickly became a family-operated company, as sons Ken and Kurt joined the QWC team full time. Now, they and Gary — along with Nicole — form a small yet mighty team, bolstered by a network of trusted subcontractors. Together, they’ve established a proven track record of bringing clients’ home dreams to life.
